I'm Newbie to iredMail as well as in linux, my new company is currently using open source edition of iRedAdmin and are planning to migrate to iRedAdmin-Pro-LDAP..I currently testing on Ubuntu 14.04 with Separate LDAP Server to prepare for the migration.. i successfully installed the latest version of iredmail with LDAP backend and can now send internal email (local) and also installed phpldap on separate Ubuntu 14.04 server.
The question is, How can I  Connect iRedMail to my separate openldap server ??

Thanks!

Hi there,
I hope you can help me with this issue. When sending e-mails with iRedMail is fast and the message is received without problems.
The problem that I have is I have sent a bunch of e-mails to my e-mail account (user@mydomain.com) but takes forever to receive one in a while.
What can it be happening?.
Everything seems to be Ok but I really don't know. Can you please help me giving me a hint?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Dear iRedAdmin-Pro Support,

I'm planning to update from policyd 1.8 to cluebringer on our mail infrastructure. I did a bit of testing and I've found that cluebringer uses a mysql table to list all domains that it considers "internal". Each domain added with iRedAdmin is added to this table.

We currently have ~25k domains. I have the following questions:
- has anyone ever used cluebringer with that many domains? I'm worried about performance here: does it use some sort of caching so that such a table is ok performance-wise?
- would it be possible to have cluebringer use a ldap lookup instead?

Regards,

Andrea

I am seeking help regarding configuring relay for specific domain and general relay for everything else. I found how to configure this in postfix but the issue is that IredMail uses MySQL tables. I need to configure transport for specific domain with no authentication and default relay to use SASL. Currently I have everything working through the relay OK using main.cf configuration

Could someone help me out or point me in the direction where I can work out how to/what to configure to create domain specific relay settings while keeping my default domain operational?

   In postfix I read that:

    main.cf
    #relayhost = [smtp.domain.net]:587
    transport_maps = hash:/etc/postfix/transport

    /etc/postfix/transport
    domaintodeliverdirectyto :
    * smtp:[smtp.domain.net]:587

   Don't forget to postmap /etc/postfix/transport

   May want to use relay instead of smtp as the transport mechanisim.

But in IredMail case with the MySQL tables I am not sure how to mimic this configuration (also uncertain about providing username and password for default relay in such configuration as well).

Any help appreciated (can run as is but would love to know/understand how to make it work the multi relay way).

Thanks

Tom

I am wonder why mailing lists are only available with the LDAP backend.  Doesn't postfix/dovecot support mailing lists in MySQL? or even text files?  From what I read it seems they do.

We have been running Iredmail for over a month now & it has been flawless. My only concern is how can I remove (clean out DB), quarantined emails from postgresql. I work for a tight wad & will not drop the money for the iredadmin pro. I have searched the forums & can not find anything on it. I could be just asking the question wrong. So maybe 1 of you can point me in the direction or enlighten me on how I would go about removing quarantined emails (a.k.a. spam, viruses, etc.) from our system.

Thanks

Logging in to the iRedAdmin-Pro ldap takes me ca. an hour (sometimes it takes up to 2,5 hour). The only way to log in in reasonable time is to put login credentials on the login page, and to choose other subpage in the address bar for example /iredadmin/domains. Then loging in takes seconds.
Is this possible to change the starting page from dashboard to lets say domains or admins?

My Dash board while looking at domains shows the wrong amount of space used by that domain.

Its off by large amount  it should be 395G but it shows 226G , also can we get this number in human readable format?

The allocated is 9TB and the limit is set at 500G, I did once set the limit to 9T to stop it from showing over 100% erroneously.

How is this corrected?

I added an email alias to some users using the attribute "shadowAddress" and I login in RoundCube with both addresses.
The problem is that with the alias does not display the global address book.

In the forum I read that if the domain is different the search does not return anything (http://www.iredmail.org/forum/post16075.html#p16075), but in my case the domain is the same.

Is this normal?

I have one domain (it's charter.net) that keeps getting sent into the auto-blacklist for cluebringer.  I can go in and delete the row in the database, and it's fine for a couple days.  But then I think a new grey-list attempt is made, and then it bumps to auto-blacklist.

Which database handles the greylisting count?  I think I delete the one row and everything is fine for a day or two, but then 2,3,10 (I mean, it's 2 more attempts, or 3... or 10 more attempts) more attempts and it gets greylisted because it's stuck at a count of 90 or whatever.

Edit : Clarification

Hi Zhang,

after some time of using iredmail, I found out, I have some artifacts in database. I know it's because I had wrong utility scripts, but IMO some database integrity checks cannot hurt.

This code creates reference constraint from table alias to domain (nonexisting domain cannot have aliases)

ALTER TABLE alias ADD CONSTRAINT domain_exists FOREIGN KEY (domain) REFERENCES domain (domain) MATCH FULL;

I have the same on table mailbox, but I'm not sure if it's from official release anymore - I guess so?

Thanks for your great work!

I have private mail server and need to disable https (https://subdomain.mydomain.com/mail) so that
I can use reverse proxy. I really donot want to do that, but as far as I know,

External (reverse proxy,https)--> Internal(https) -- NOT POSSIBLE!!

I was wondering how to do it correctly without breaking anything.
Hope it is clear.

The upgrade to the latest stable version iRedAPD should be done even on systems with policyd 1.8?

Debian 6 doesn´t cluebringer-postfix package, only postfix-policyd (Policyd  1.82).

I'm doing final tests and adjustments before final migration to iRedMail and found that by default IRedMail install sets
-> export FAIL2BAN_LOGTARGET='SYSLOG' on ~/iRedMail-0.8.7/conf/fail2ban
so,
-> /etc/fail2ban/fail2ban.conf has "logtarget = SYSLOG",
but in logrotate,
-> /etc/logrotate.d/fail2ban on the postrotate the logtarget is set to /var/log/fail2ban.log

Please, could someone tell me what could be the the consequences after the first logrotate run?

Thanks

Sir,

I want to buy iRedAdmin-Pro (web-based admin panel for iRedMail, full-featured edition).

But below are my questions;

Hosting iRedAdmin-Pro (web-based admin panel for iRedMail,
full-featured edition) in my private / home PC vs hosting it on a web host server, which is better and recommended ?

If some of my account users send unsolicited emails what will happen to my server ?  Will it be stopped ?

Thanks and your soonest reply
