We need to have a more complex alias management, example:
example.pt is a domain alias for example.com
example.com.br is a domain alias for example.com

Then we need per user alias, example:
info@example.pt to user1@example.com,user2@example.com
info@example.com.br to user2@example.com,user3@example.com

We already have this is the database and on postfix by just changing the query in /etc/postfix/mysql/virtual_alias_maps.cf

We now need to be able to manage this entries through the web interface, can this be done? How?

Hi,

I'd like to change the url under which phpmyadmin is accessible (from https://servername/phpmyadmin to e.g. hppts://servername/hiddenphpmyadmin). Normally (as far as I know) this is done by changing the alias in /etc/phpmyadmin/apache.conf. But editing apache.conf has no effect. Even when I rename the file nothing happens.

So, where can I change the url for phpmyadmin and also where can I add a precedent login (normally configured in /etc/phpmyadmin/apache.conf, .htaccess and .htpasswd)?

Thanks

Getmail, external mail retriever

======== Required information ====
- iRedMail version:  0.8.7
- Store mail accounts in which backend MySQL
- Linux/BSD distribution name and version: Debian
====

I just wanted to post this solution as I greatly enjoy iRedmail. This is a copy of a personal wiki and explains how to use getmail to retrieve external mail, optionally with a cronjob, to iRedmail.

==Installation==

Installing Getmail Before proceeding, make sure your system is up to date. If you’re using Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS, or Fedora, you’ll want to update your repositories and upgrade all packages to their latest versions. Select from the following commands, depending on what operating system you’re running:

apt-get update
apt-get upgrade

Since getmail is included by default in most distributions’ software repositories, its installation is straightforward. Issue the following command to install getmail on Debian and Ubuntu systems:

apt-get install getmail4

==Configuration==

* Create a configuration directory, and set the right permissions by executing: # mkdir -m 0700 ~/.getmail. The main configuration file often contains sensitive information, namely passwords in plain text.
* Create a configuration file, the default being: ~/.getmail/getmailrc. A separate configuration file is needed for each mailserver to pick up mail from. Configuration files other than the default, will have to be explicitly passed as arguments to the getmail command.

===Retrieving mail===

Here is an example getmailrc used with a gmail account.
[retriever]
type = SimpleIMAPSSLRetriever
server = imap.mailprovider.com
username =
password =

[destination]
type = Maildir
path =
user = vmail

[options]
verbose = 2
message_log = ~/.getmail/log

# retrieve only new messages
# if set to true it will re-download ALL messages every time!
read_all = false

# delete once retrieved
delete = true

# do not alter messages
delivered_to = false
received = false

Most people will like to add the following section to their getmailrc to prevent all the mail on the server being downloaded every time getmail is ran.

[options]
read_all = False

For this guide we will be storing our mail in the maildir format. The two main mailbox formats are mbox and maildir. The main difference between the two is that mbox is one file, with all of your mails and their headers stored in it, whereas a maildir is a directory tree. Each mail is its own file, which will often speed things up.

The maildir destination is the destination as found in the MySQL.
Open phpMyAdmin and look for: localhost → vmail → mailbox  → under the collum “maildir”.

==== First Run ====
You can test the getmail retrieval with the following command
#getmail

If it works fine, you can create a cronjob for getmail to run every n hours/minutes. Type crontab -e to edit cronjobs, and enter the following:
  */1 * * * * /usr/bin/getmail
That will run getmail every minute.

Also, to quiet getmail down, we can reduce its verbosity to zero by adding the following to getmailrc.

[options]
verbose = 0

====More than one Email account with getmail====
By default, when you run getmail the program searches for the file getmailrc created as seen above. If you have more than one mail account you would like to get mail from, then you can create such a file for each email address, and then tell getmail to run using both of them.  Obviously if you have two accounts and two files you cannot have both of them called getmailrc. What you do is give them two different names, using myself as an example: I call one personal, and one university. These two files contain content relevant to my personal mail, and my university work mail respectively. Then to get getmail to work on these two files, instead of searching for getmailrc(default), I use the --rcfile switch like so: getmail --rcfile university --rcfile persona This can work with more files if you have more email accounts, just make sure each file is in the .getmail directory and make sure to  alter the cronjob to run the command with the --rcfile switches. E.g.

  */30 * * * * /usr/bin/getmail --rcfile university --rcfile personal

Obviously you can call your files whatever you want, providing you include them in the cronjob or shell command, and they are in the .getmail/ directory, getmail will fetch mail from those two accounts.

Hey guys, hope someone can help me figure this out.  Randomly today in the middle of the day all my users lost access to their webmail.  I'm able to use the hard internal IP address of the server https://10.150.20.200/iredadmin but I can use the external IP Address or Hostname.  We rarely reconfigure anything so nothings changed which is what makes these strange for me.

Where should I begin troubleshooting?  I've already verified the NAT Policies on my SonicWALL and it's pretty straightforward.

Mail Responder

I have iRedMail installed (have had it for approx 2 years; upgraded once)...

I would like to set up a mail responder... the idea is that I would give an email address to interested parties and they would send an email to an email address on the server.  The server would check to see if their email address existed in a list and if it did it would send back an attachment; if they did not exist in the list it would reply with a response that said their request was pending and at the same time it would send an email to the list administrator with the email of the original requestor.

Any suggestions on how I could integrate this functionality with my installation?  (I understand procmail is no longer supported)

Regards
Nivag

The storage maildir path of removed mail user in table deleted_mailbox so works in iRedAdmin-Pro?

I made update to iRedMail 0.8.6 and created the new table in vmail database, but when I deleted mail user account with iRedAdmin-0.3.3 (open source) no data has been entered in the table.

Hello
We had some issues with e-mail.  So I disabled an account, removed it, and created a new one.  Thus, it created the file structure correctly.  Then did some testing, etc. and all appeared good.

Stopped postfix and dovecot.
Since old e-mail had much larger amount of email to move, went to control panel and set path back to old account.
Did a cp -a of mail from new account to old account.
   Example cp -a ..path/Maildir/cur/* ..path/Maildir/cur/

Started postfix and dovecot.
Opened thunderbird and most e-mail is present.
However, there are some e-mails in the box that are not visible.
   SE Linux is off (NOT a Good thing guys....)
   GUI & UID are vmail with permissions of rw_______

Tried altering the SE LInux context and restart services / t-bird.
Still cannot see "certain" email messages.
Looking at file format and cannot determine why or what issue is causing it not to display.
Did review a message using postcat -q mail_ID.
It is there but does not display in Thunderbird.

What am I missing and/or is the a value in the file name issue?

Thank you for the help/reply!!!

Hi,
I have an issue with a client, let me try to explain.

They have an external user on an external domain (lets call this domain2, and his account user@domain2.com).

All emails received to user@domain2.com are redirected to their account on our iRedAdmin server (lets call this user@myired.com).

When an email sent to user@domain2.com is sent from a non hosted domain (EG: user@internet.com), The mail is received fine on user@myired.com.

However, we are using strict sasl authentication rules for domains hosted on our iRedAdmin server, so.

When an email sent to user@domain2.com is sent from a hosted domain (EG: user2@myired.com), The mail is reject from our server as it is being received from a @myired.com domain (hosted on our server, and reject is because of no sasl authentication).

I know I can add the domain2.com server IP into my policy to allow mail from @myired.com without sasl , however this will be changing our policy because of domain2.com's inability to authenticate or forward from a different sender address.
And creates the issue of phishing attempts by allowing this server to send emails from support@myired.com or accounts@myired.com....

Suggestions?

-- Edit --
One option would be to have an automated service that has user@myired.com to pop the email from mx.domain2.com.
As far as I'm aware, iRedAdmin doesn't have this capability?
