OpenLdap Password Encryption

- Store mail accounts in which backend (LDAP/MySQL/PGSQL): LDAP

Just want to know which encryption is used while storing password in OpenLDAP.
is it MD5 or SSHA, if it is SSHA then what is the salt key.

Actually we are trying to use the openLDAP to authenticate other application.
