HI

i have a server setup, with a static ip address

my forward dns is working fine, for example servername.domain resolves to ipaddress

how ever my reverse dns doesnt work..... my internet service provider wont setup a reverse record for me

this creates a problem because emails are being rejected due to the reverse dns issue

there there a way that i can relay all email originating from my server through my ISP's smtp server

What aill break when updating the mysql root users PW

So far the only application that I've determined to be utilizing the initial iRedmail mysql root password is the backup cron:
/var/vmail/backup/backup_mysql.sh

Is there anything else utilizing the the mysql root password that I need to be worried about?

dont send/recive emails

Excuse me, I want to ask some problems.
i have setup 2 machine,
machine 1 (mail.mydomain.com0 ==>, i install it with iredmail, and
machine 2 (e-learning.mydomain.com ==>, i install it with moodle and self ldap password changer/ltb (http://ltb-project.org/wiki/documentati … e-password)
So, when I test to sent an emil notification from machine 2 (Moodle or ltb) to reset my password, and sent the email confirmation to my account,i can't receive the email in my iredmail(machine 2),
but, when i test with other mailserver, the email receive in my inbox.
because of that, i want to ask, if there are some special configuration that must i do for my iredmail after standart installation, in other my iredmail can receive email from other machine.
thanks for your attention

Hi everyone,

New product to me.

I'm behind a firewall and need to know what to open - smtp clearly, but what else?
Guessing 25, 80, 443? in and out

Many thanks, I'm also on the hunt for some new 'post' install doc - ie what to do next

Cheers
Bryan

In the upgrade guide to 0.8.5, there is a section: "Fix incorrect SQL column name in Amavisd database"
When doing the query, the table does not exist there. I am using amavisd-new-2.8.0 (20120630)

Amavisd has been running fine, but I was wondering why I didn't have either unchecked_lovers_maps or unchecked_lover tables.

What triggers this table to be created and has the table creation query been fixed with the upgrade to 0.8.5?

Dovecot killed itself ?? Slow performance

Hi all,

I have just upgraded IRedAdmin--Pro (MySQL) to version 1.70. running on a CentOS 6.3 (x86_64

After doing this I went to add a Domain under domain and accounts. As soon as I hit the "Add" button, I get the following error:

Error: (1054, "Unknown column 'defaultlanguage' in 'field list'")

It would appear that I have missed someting very simple in the upgrade but I am seriously not sure what. Any assistance would be gratefully accepted.

Cheers
George

Fresh install, completed today. I've imported only the ldif and mail archives (no mysql db or apache configurations) from a previous install of iRedMail LDAP on a Debian Squeeze, following your instructions. All seems to work fine (postfix, dovecot, iredadmin, phpmyadmin, phpldap, rouncdube, etc...), except for awstats logins:

192.168.200.220 - - [07/Aug/2013:18:18:27 +0200] "GET /awstats/awstats.pl?config=web HTTP/1.1" 401 513
192.168.200.220 - postmaster@mydomain.it [07/Aug/2013:18:18:43 +0200] "GET /awstats/awstats.pl?config=web HTTP/1.1" 401 513

If I comment out "Require valid-user" in /etc/httpd/conf.d/awstats.conf I can access to awstats, so seems that the problem is with apache authorization module or its binding to LDAP.
What I should check?
Account and password for bind to LDAP are fine...

I've installed SoGO 2.x on the same server, which it binds to iRedMail LDAP...

configuration problem.

Throttle Outgoing(Forwards) Emails specific to a domain

Gmail has been throttling out emails that are forwarding to gmail.com and google apps account.

Our system has detected an unusual rate of 421-4.7.0 unsolicited mail originating from your IP address. To protect our 421-4.7.0 users from spam, mail sent from your IP address has been temporarily 421-4.7.0 blocked. Please visit http://www.google.com/mail/help/bulk_mail.html 421 4.7.0 to review our Bulk Email Senders Guidelines. n10si2454219qcd.56 - gsmtp (in reply to end of DATA command))

All the emails that are being forward are not spam and legit. What we are looking to do is one of 2 things

1) Throttle external from address specific to an address so that if they are sending us to many emails at once we would limit them

or

2) Throttle outgoing emails to gmail.com to only do so many at a time etc.

I am guessing option 1 would be better as we know what emails are the one sending bulk stuff.

Were is the email from configured?

After googling around i found a lot of info on how to disable the amavis scanning of smtp-auth'ed users, i guess this is the default config in iredmail.
Now i need to do the contrary... :-)
Can you give some hints on how to achieve that?

importing a Mysql databse

Description: I have a php file that indicates that a mysql file will be imported into mysql, that .sql file is saved as example.sql, and it reads it then it creates a database and then imports all the tables.

Problem: it only gets to a point that it only creates the new database but it doesn't imports the tables, the problem is with IredMail, when I setup the server with iRedMail that is when I have the problem, I know that when iRedMail is installed all the configuration for mysql, php and apache is configured for iRedMail specifically, my php file and instruction works fine with only LAMP installed with ubuntu 12.04 32 bits

What recommendations do you have that I configure to mysql or php.ini or apache configuration, I would like to keep iRedMail, because I need a mail server

Tks in advance

Hello,

I have been attempting to do a fresh install of 0.8.5 on a fresh OS. However, there is a failure reported as follows:

--start--
********************************************************************
* Start iRedMail Configurations
********************************************************************
< INFO > Create self-signed SSL certification files.
< INFO > Create required system accounts: vmail, iredapd, iredadmin.
< INFO > Configure Apache web server and PHP.
< INFO > Configure MySQL database server.
mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed
error: 'Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)'

< INFO > Configure Postfix (Message Transfer Agent).
< INFO > Configure Policyd (postfix policy server, version 1.8).
< INFO > Configure Dovecot (pop3/imap/managesieve server, version 2).
< INFO > Configure ClamAV (anti-virus toolkit).
< INFO > Configure Amavisd-new (interface between MTA and content checkers).
< INFO > Configure SpamAssassin (content-based spam filter).
< INFO > Configure iRedAPD (postfix policy daemon).
< INFO > Configure iRedAdmin (official web-based admin panel).
< INFO > Configure Fail2ban (authentication failure monitor).
< INFO > Configure Awstats (logfile analyzer for mail and web server).
< INFO > Configure Roundcube webmail.
< INFO > Configure phpMyAdmin (web-based MySQL management tool).
--end--

Now whilst the "Configure MySQL database server" part of the installation is being executed the error message doesnt appear instantly. So it does look like it is processing the MySQL configuration for a few moments up until the error is displayed.

I can confirm that the installation is creating MySQL database schemas (eg: amavisd, iredadmin, policyd, roundcubemail and vmail) . And also corresponding mysql users for those schemas (@ localhost) are also created (with privileges), so that proves that the credentials provided for the MySQL root@localhost user is correct.

Is there any debug installation mode, so it can be determined as to what part of the MySQL configuration is failing?
