Hi !

I just installed iRedMail 0.8.5 on OpenSuse 12.3 x64 .... and all works fine except there is no webUI for cluebringer....

there is no cluebringer.conf in /etc/apache2/conf.d/
there is no cluebringer in /srv/www/

I try iRedAdmin on CentOS and on Debian and there is Cluebringer working fine, just on OpenSuse is not.

How to fix that ? .... I plan to buy iRedAdmin Pro for mail server (cca 500 users) but I wonna to put it on openSuse...

I have this in mail for postmaster .... but it is not working....

How could I improve spam detection? As the log shows below, amavis is working, but it just does not prevent all the spam. Most of the spam is still rejected, so it's only the top of the iceberg that gets through. But this problem did not exist a few weeks ago. The specific mail in the log is definitely spam. kpelit.fi is my own domain. Also one of my customer's domain is receiving spam nowadays.

I know my iRedMail installation is a couple of versions behind, but I haven't updated it because I fear I would break something during the update and secondly I did not notice any spam related entries in the upgrade notes of 0.8.4 and 0.8.5. I want to be careful when updating a production environment.

Please let me know what else information you need, as the log below may not be enough. I can also consider paid support, if you do want to investigate this in my environment. Thank you for your help!

Is it possible to modify postfix configuration to allow use e-mail address of maillist as outgoing address?

Currently it triggers error "Sender address rejected: not owned by user".

I can resolve this by removing reject_sender_login_mismatch / reject_authenticated_sender_login_mismatch from postfix configuration, but this is more workaround than a solution. Perfect solution will be if internal members/administrators of the list can use the list address as their From: address.

Use case for this model is for example company with list info@example.org and members user1@example.org, user2@example.org. Both users will receive mail sent to info@example.org, but currently can not send mail from this address (except the workaround above, but that cancels the check for other domains/users as well), which in this company may be the desired workflow.

In the Preparations section of your documentation you require the FQDN be listed in the hosts file as the first item. Your example read, 127.0.0.1  mx.example.com demo localhost localhost.localdomain

When I look in my host file (I have not installed iRedMail yet) I see the following:

127.0.0.1   localhost
127.0.1.1   kc-server.chat.tenn   kc-server

I have two ethernet cards in my server (eth0, eth1) and am currently connected to eth1. Is the 127.0.1.1 address the loopback for the second card?

How should this host file be configured then?

cat interfaces shows the following:

# The loopback network interface
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

# The primary network interface
auto eth1
iface eth1 inet dhcp

Please note: This server will be on an isolated network with a static IP address when completed for the purpose of receiving certain reports from a single computer that has to send the reports via email. The server will not be connected to the internet.

Thanks for your assistance.

Hi I am a student trying to do a project on URL deleting from email. I've came to find out of iRedMail, which is an open source mail server which anti-virus(ClamAV) and anti-spamming had already been configured in. I would like to find out if I am able to transfer the email that I have recieved from my personal hotmail to a honey client and check it with an antivirus before deleting it.
If yes, how can I approach this function?

Hosts file before installation. (Jail and Without Jail)

$

Hello,

I've tried two installation types (Jail and Without Jail) on FreeBSD. I've read documents. First documents says (Without Jail) we must change in /etc/hosts files. Like this;

# Part of file: /etc/hosts
127.0.0.1   mx.example.com mx localhost localhost.localdomain

And other documents (in Jail) not refer this steps. But refer different steps for start iRed installations. Like this;

Without Jail ;
# bash iRedMail.sh

In Jail ;
# LOCAL_ADDRESS='xx.xx.xx.xx' bash iRedMail.sh

xx.xx.xx.xx => jail IP (10.0.0.5 for me) (Not 127.0.0.1)

When i was finished installation in jail, i've received this error.

"ERROR 1130 (00000): Host '10.0.0.5' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server"

Question 1:

How should it be /etc/hosts file for iRedMail installation in Jail?

127.0.0.1   mx.example.com mx localhost localhost.localdomain
   OR
10.0.0.5   mx.example.com mx localhost localhost.localdomain

Question 2:

How do i start iRedMail installation in Jail?

jail#  LOCAL_ADDRESS='10.0.0.5' bash iRedMail.sh
  OR
jail#  LOCAL_ADDRESS='127.0.0.1' bash iRedMail.sh

Question 3: (And Last)

Which one is healty?

Firstly ; change LOCAL_ADDRESS line in /iRedMail/conf/global

export LOCAL_ADDRESS='10.0.0.5'  #Here 10.0.0.5 is local adress my Jail.

and after run installation;

# bash iRedMail.sh

OR

Directly;

#LOCAL_ADDRESS='10.0.0.5' bash iRedMail.sh

Already thanks for answers.

Changed the hostname, edited the following files, With this my hostname is kept as mail.isdcgroup.com

To test my MX record updation, I tested my SNMP connection using mxtoolbox.com. Below is the output from the tests..

However I am getting an connection lost in the SMTP transcript which I am unable to comprehend.

I am not able to hit at any point beyond this and need help in figuring out. Please extend your help with troubleshooting tips or redirect me to posts which has been previously raised for this issue (I could find only a recent one and I have done all the troubleshooting mentioned in there)

Just wondering how to decrease the spam threshold on our box. Looking at mail headers, I see:

X-Virus-Scanned: amavisd-new at **MAILSERVER NAME REMOVED FOR SECURITY PURPOSES**
X-Spam-Flag: NO
X-Spam-Score: 5.119
X-Spam-Level: *****
X-Spam-Status: No, score=5.119 tagged_above=2 required=6.2
    tests=[BAYES_50=0.8, HTML_MESSAGE=0.001,

I'd like to set the threshold to a lower number than the messages that have been "sneaking in" lately.

I am attempting an upgrade from Debian 6 to 7 and am having Dovecot difficulties when I run "apt-get dist-upgrade."

Per suggestion, I first set up iRedMail on a Debian 7 VM, and then moved the dovecot.conf file into my actual server.  However, I am getting the error:

doveconf: Fatal: Error in configuration file /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf: protocols: Unknown protocol: sieve

It works just fine in the VM, so where have I gone wrong?

Hi folks,

Before to buy a Pro version, I have some questions with SSL certificates to solve.

I manage some e-mail domains from clients and these clients always use the address "webmail.<domain>" to check emails using the webmail. Also, some clients use their Outlook/Thunderbird email clients.

So, the questions are:

1) Need I to buy a SSL certificate to every domain that I have configured, to remove that not trusted certificate page from Firefox/Chrome?

2) The certificate can remove too the "bad certificate" message window when I client use the Outlook?

3) Cheap certificates can be used for it, like a PositiveSSL, InstantSSL or EssentialSSL?

4) If I buy a certificate, can I move it to a new server with the Pro version of IredMail?

I really enjoy the help with these questions.

Thank you

Cannot delete messages in Thunderbird when over quota

Am using iRedAdminPro with user mailbox quotas.
Not  sure if I should post this in the iRedAdmin forum or here.

I am getting users which are using Thunderbird complaining that the mail server tells them they are over quota and then they are unable to delete any messages. When you try to delete a small box pops up saying "Unable to perform action on INBOX on mail server xxx - OVER QUOTA".

Obviously the one thing which should work still when a user is over quota is to delete messages.
Any other trick to delete them, or is there a setting to handle this. I can only find earlier forum messages related to the webmail, but this is Thunderbird.

I have just set up a mail server using the iRedmail package. One of my clients was complaining that it took about 15 minutes to send an email to about 100 recipients. The email had a few megabytes of attachments, but the mail client (Apple Mail) was locked up the whole time. Isn't there a way to have postfix disconnect from the client and then process the recipients?
